The airport is a joint military and civilian facility located on the edges of the magnificent city of Marrakech (or Marrakesh). The airport has flights which go to all the corners of Europe as well as some Middle Eastern destinations. Marrakech Airport is a very busy facility; it services around three million passengers per annum. The airport is currently building a third passenger terminal in order to improve the facilities on offer to waiting customers. Marrakech (also called Marrakesh) is one of the most enchanting destinations in the entire world. The city has an eclectic mixture of ancient ruins and modern shops and restaurants. The fabulous Marrakech Museum is a highlight of the city; it holds a collection of artistic and historical documents that colourfully tell the story of Morocco. Elsewhere, the city is home to some amazing mosques - most of which welcome visitors - these buildings are very beautiful and are perhaps the most famous structures in Morocco. Alternatively, people with access to a decent car hire firm might want to explore the desert landscape outside the city.
