Got to be honest, I didn’t think that this was going to be a good experience, but it turned out to be the best choice. Even with insurance the prices were quite low and we were helped insanely well at the rental place. They even upgraded our rental car for free because the tinier one we had reserved wasn’t available at that time. I would definitely recommend Sixt Guadalajara

Does anyone ever rate car rental places in Mexico with anything other than one star?
They all change the prices once you get there, and then tell you about obligatory insurance that doubles or triples the price. Why not here? I don't know. But they are upfront about their pricing, no surprises when you get there.
We needed to return our rental car earlier than they open, and they not only sent someone to open the office really early just for us, but had a supervisor there as back up in case something went wrong. They answered the phone when I called, and they confirmed everything via text a few hours before the flight, and sent us a picture of the shuttle that would be picking us up at the airport.
I normally plan for at least 1.5 hrs to go through the rental process in Mexico, and this took about 15 easy minutes. I cannot recommend them enough, especially if you are a novice traveler (because the rest of the companies will make you regret choosing them).
And if you are renting, I recommendv using a credit card that covers your CDW to make it even cheaper.
There was coffee available, but I didn't have any. You're on your own there.
